SCHOOLS


I teach Mindfulness to pupils and Mindful Self-compassion to adults. I run Parenting Workshops  and Support Groups for staff. I provide One-to-one sessions with pupils and parents or staff. 


I am trained by the Mindfulness in Schools Project https://mindfulnessinschools.org/ to teach Mindfulness in Schools to pupils aged from 8 to 18. These are eight-week programmes for children, and I also teach a four week course to children and parents called .Breathe.


I use the principles of Mindfulness and Mindful Self-compassion to deliver a Parenting Workshop  (see below) over two evenings a week apart.


I am trained by the Centre for Mindful Self-compassion https://centerformsc.org/ to teach Mindful Self-compassion to adults. This is an eight-week programme and I receive excellent feedback regarding the material and my teaching. These are not specifically for parents, but they can work well with a group of parents who have the common experience of children at the same school.


I use the principles and experience from this approach in One-to-one sessions with pupils and parents using a style that is supportive and has emotional resonance that encourages wellbeing, decision-making and resilience.

Parenting Workshops




On the back of Mindfulness and Mindful Self-compassion I have developed a Parenting Workshop that runs over two evenings a week apart. These give the opportunity to take a step back and notice the dynamics in the parent/child relationship. I focus on how the parent is the adult and needs to look after him/herself in order to demonstrate acceptable behaviour to the child. Think of the scenario where the teenager has a fit of temper; if the parent reacts and shouts back then a downward spiral is triggered that it's hard to stop. If the parent can stop being triggered by the child, take a pause, not react, take care and then respond from a calm place things can be very different for everyone. 


The workshop shines a light on some psychological insights that simultaneously light your path to happier parenting for you and your teenagers.

Great insight into a child's brain and how they think differently to adults.

It’s great to take the time out to explore issues that we face as parents, discuss with others and realise that we are all facing tricky situations with our daughters.

It was comforting to see us parents all have the same experiences one way or another with our girls. I learnt a lot and it has made me think differently about how I am with my soon to be teenage girl!

I offer a one off workshop, tailored to your needs, that will help you address these matters and provide resources for you and your staff to use after the workshop. I use the principles of Mindfulness and Mindful Self-compassion for the workshop and for on-going training, eight week programmes, and one-to-one support.
